What surfaces can Easy Living Total Prime be used on?
Total Prime is designed for interior and exterior use on a wide range of substrates, including fibre cement, melamine, MDF, softwood, hardwood, ceramic tiles (polished or matt), aluminium, galvanized iron, glass, PVC and weathered enamels.
Important: Total Prime cannot be used on gypsum surfaces.

One full, even coat is usually sufficient to achieve a solid foundation. Highly porous or uneven surfaces may require extra preparation before priming.

What is the spread rate of Total Prime?
Theoretical spreading rate is approximately 11 m² per litre on smooth, properly prepared surfaces. Actual coverage may vary depending on surface profile and application tools.

What tools can I use to apply Total Prime?
You can apply Total Prime using a brush, roller or airless spray. No thinning is required.

What are the ideal conditions for applying this primer?
For best results:
Apply when the temperature is between 10°C and 40°C
Avoid painting in very high humidity or if rain is expected
Ensure the surface is completely dry and clean before priming

How should I prepare previously painted surfaces?
Good condition: Remove loose paint, clean thoroughly and fill defects.
Weathered enamel: Clean with a suitable detergent, sand to a matt finish, rinse and allow to dry.
Poor condition: Remove flaking paint completely, clean, rinse and let dry before priming.

Is Total Prime low-odour or environmentally friendly?
Yes. Total Prime is a water-based acrylic primer with 0 g/L VOC, making it low-odour and more comfortable to use indoors.

Does Total Prime help seal porous surfaces?
Yes. It provides excellent sealing properties, stabilising porous or chalky surfaces so that your topcoat applies more evenly and lasts longer.

Can Total Prime be overcoated with any paint?
Yes. Total Prime has excellent overcoating ability and can be followed with acrylic or enamel topcoats once fully dry.
