Truth be told, at this very moment, we’re on a mad hunt for all the little joys in life. They seem like the essential elixir to counter the morass of chaos and disillusionment across the globe.
This is why we were instantly cheered by the news of this limited-edition collaboration between Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams. Champagne and style combined? Yes, please!
Simply put, this is sheer fun and elegance in a bottle. It’s a playful twist on a great classic, and as the youth say, “we’re here for it”.
Musician and artistic polymath Williams is the men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton – which, like Moët, is an LVMH brand – so this “keeping it in the fam” partnership makes perfect sense. But we have to say, Williams’ idea to centre the entire collaboration campaign around birthday celebrations is brilliant.

If you’re partial to a bit of bubbly, a bottle of the good stuff makes a cracking gift – and not just for the recipient. As Williams puts it: “The best part about a birthday is the people who want to celebrate it with you.”
We couldn’t agree more. And, on that note, since we have a Currency team member with a birthday this week (hint: it’s Rob Rose), we’d be more than happy to accept this kind of gift if anyone fancies sending one.
Utterly unsubtle hints aside, what’s different about these bottles? The champagne inside (namely the Brut Impérial and Nectar Impérial Rosé) remains the same, but the packaging has had a stylish revamp. The bottles now come in striking blue, red, gold and white accents. For their creation, Williams and the Moët team delved into the archives of the champagne house and discovered that what is now the iconic tie on the bottle was originally a bow in 1892 – so they’ve brought it back for these label iterations.
You’ll find the range at good local retailers.
