Tim Cohen is a long-time business journalist, commentator and columnist. He is currently senior editor for Currency and editor at large for the Daily Maverick. He was previously the editor of Business Day and the Financial Mail.

Neli is a seasoned Digital editor and content manager with 15 years in media, specialising in business news and social media strategy. She’s passionate about making finance fashionable, and crafting compelling content and strategies to elevate brands and engage audiences. She worked as Financial Mail digital editor, Business Day social media manager and senior Fin24 content producer.

SHIRLEY DE VILLIERS

With a background in political science and over a decade in journalism, Shirley de Villiers brings a unique perspective to her writing. As a former deputy editor of the Financial Mail, her columns have become known for their sharp wit and deep political insight. Shirley’s ability to distil complex political scenarios into compelling narratives makes her a must-read for anyone interested in South Africa’s political landscape. 

VERNON WESSELS

With more than 20 years navigating global markets and billion-dollar bond deals, Vernon is a financial journalism heavyweight. As Bloomberg’s ex-South African bureau chief, he spearheaded African market coverage and mentored the next generation of finance trailblazers.

CARMEN CLEGG

As an advertising specialist, Carmen has worked on the commercial arm of international publication brands across multiple platforms for over two decades. Having started with a traditional media background, Carmen has grown into advocating for digital solutions. Creating relationships and delivering on objectives for both brands and consumers is one of her key strengths. In her spare time Carmen enjoys writing travel and lifestyle articles.
